Joanna’s methodology teaches you to develop your proprioception; as an acute awareness of your own unique body is the key to progress. You will learn the correct alignment for your body type and abilities, and the engagement of the right muscles in an efficient way, taking your skills to the next level in a safe and sustainable manner for Life!

Integrating her knowledge of dance technique training, strength and flexibility conditioning, mobility drills with her strong yoga practice, she brings the best of these worlds together into programming every class.

Strength & Flex Flow

Each workout flow is specially designed to focus on a particular muscle group or skill set, allowing you to achieve your goals in the best way possible:

 

  • Stronger and more flexible hips, hamstrings and quads - think better squats, lunges & deadlifts, the ability to touch your toes with straight legs, less knee, hip & lower back pain, and deeper side & mid splits

  • More mobility and strength in your back and shoulders - making those overhead lifts easier, drastically improving posture, reduced neck/shoulder tension, and enhancing back bends

  • Stronger arms & core - boosting your ability to perform push ups & planks, stronger wrists, and enhancing your headstand & arm balancing journey

  • Coordinating your breath and movement patterns aiding fluidity

  • Variations & modifications for different abilities or levels

Core Control

The class is designed to target your core muscles: your transverse abdominis, rectus abdominis, obliques, pelvic floor, glutes and spinal stabilising muscles:

  • The #1 benefit is a strong, healthy lower back, specially for lifting heavy weights or objects, and even your children

  • Improved stability, balance and coordination translates to enhanced performance in sports and workouts, especially for unilateral movements

  • Besides contributing to better posture, a strong core makes you significantly more efficient in performing every day tasks

  • Learning correct breathing techniques to keep you calm and at ease even while training

Flex Flow

If you can't join us thrice a week, this weekend option might suit you best.

The flexibility flow incorporates mobility sequences & active flexibility drills, that will refine your skills & help you reach your goals:

 

  • Increased mobility in your back, shoulders, legs and hips improves your performance in sports, weight lifting, & many other forms of workouts

  • Progress in your splits & backbend journey, working from beginner to advanced poses

  • For dancers: Conditioning your flexibility for dance routines & aerial (hoop, silks, pole)

  • Added levels of mobility equals a more active life with less worry about pain

  • Correct use of props and assistive tools to aid body awareness and alignment

  • Safe and sustainable growth through a balanced program for varied levels

Pole dance is Life for me ! The perfect blend of fluidity, dance movements, strength, tricks.... it can't get any better than that
